About

I  formed Peace of Money in 1999 as an independent financial planning business in Watertown Massachusetts.    I came from a background of education, having worked in the public schools in Boston and Cambridge for 13 years.  After completing a program of study in financial planning and doing lots of independent learning, I started a firm with the goal of helping people with all their financial worries, truly hoping to bring clients greater peace of mind regarding their money.

Clients often come initially because of a particular triggering event, inheriting money, getting married or having a  baby, approaching retirement, divorce, employment changes, a child going to college or home buying.   As you will see in the blog, people typically come with one or two things on their mind, but financial planning on one topic is closely connected to another planning on another.  In order to know how much house one can buy, you need to know how much you are spending per month.  In order to invest an inheritance, you need to plan around short term and long term goals that these funds can support.  After the initial planning is completed typically after two to four appointments, clients may then return for more planning in future years as things change in their lives.

It is the most satisfying to me as a planner to develop long term relationships with clients.  It is very rewarding to see clients meet their goals over time, whether it is buying a home, settling into retirement comfortably, gifting annually to children or grandchildren, getting their children through college or making a new career change.   Travel with me through the lives of my blog clients to see what I mean.
